A New Tab is displays when you launch AutoCAD 2015
You can:
- Start new drawing
- Open existing drawing
- Open recent drawing
- Connect to Autodesk 360 cloud-based service
Zoom In
Objects too small, cannot see clearly
Zoom in to enlarge them
Zoom Out
Want to see other portion of the drawing
Zoom out to see the whole area
Pan
Hold down the middle wheel
Move within the drawing
Zoom Extents
Double-click on the middle wheel
Fit the whole drawing into the screen
Home tab > Draw panel > Line
Pick a point, move cursor up, a green dotted line show the line is vertically
Enter 7000
Move cursor to right horizontally
Enter 3600
Move cursor up vertically
Enter 3200
Move cursor right horizontally
Enter 8800
Move cursor down vertically
Enter 7500
Move cursor left horizontally
Enter 3200
Move cursor down vertically
Enter 1200
Move cursor left horizontally
Enter 1500
Move cursor down vertically
Enter 1500
Command line: Close
Home tab > Draw panel > Rectangle
Pick one corner, move diagonally to another corner
Enter 500,500
Repeat Rectangle command
Pick top-left coner of the square
Move diagonally to top-left corner
1st field show the "-" sign
Enter -2000,1000
Repeat Rectangle command
Pick the lower-left corner of the square
Move cursor diagonally to lower-left corner
Enter -1000,-500
Repeat the same steps draw the rectangles on the right side
Removes objects from a drawing
Home tab > Modify panel > Erase
Select object and press Enter
You can select multiple objects
Quick Access Toolbar - Undo
You can undo maximum 100 steps in AutoCAD
CAD coordinate systems describe points relative to the object being modeled
Cartesian Coordinates
Both distances (X,Y)
Polar Coordinates
One distances, one angle
Absolute Coordinates
Any coordinates start from origin (0,0)
Relative Coordinates
Any coordinates start from last point
Home tab > Draw panel > Circle
Command line: 3P
Snap 3 points to creates the circle
Repeat Circle command
Command line: 2P
Snap 2 points to creates the circle
Repeat Circle command
Command line: Ttr
Touch 2 tangent of circles, enter the radius for the circles
